ICC pulls up Pandya for celebrating aggressively

Melbourne, Jan 28 (UNI) The International Cricket Council (ICC) today officially reprimanded Team India all-rounder Hardik Pandya for celebrating aggressively after claiming Australian Chris Lynn’s wicket in the first Twenty20 International match in Adelaide on Tuesday.
Pandya, who made his India debut in the match, was penalised was sanctioned under the clause which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an International Match”, the ICC said. The incident took place in the 16th over of the Australian innings, when Lynn, who dispatched Pandya for a huge six in the over, smashed a wide delivery that stung the hands of fielder Yuvraj Singh, sparking Pandya’s wild celebration.
India won the match by 37 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
