I will not contest LS polls: Mayawati

Lucknow, Mar 20 (UNI) Allaying the all speculations, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Wednesday announced that she would not contest in the Lok Sabha polls, which is slated to be held between April 11 and May 19.

"My whole strength would be to make the alliance more strong," she said in a statement here.
However, she made it clear that she can contest for the Lok Sabha later if she wants and will win comfortably.
Mayawati added that all her effort will be put on for the success of the alliance.
BSP has joined hands with arch rival Samajwadi Party to jointly contest the polls in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
