Cannes, May 15 (UNI) Indian pavilion at Cannes film festival opened on Wednesday with the government and the country’s film industry lauding the role of regional cinema for the growth of cinema.
‘’There is a renewed focus on regional cinema today,’’ said Information and Broadcasting Secretary Amit Khare while inaugurating the Indian pavilion at the film market of the Cannes film festival on Wednesday.
‘’One of the important trends in our cinema is the growing importance of regional cinema,’’ said Mr Khare at the inaugural ceremony attended by Assamese filmmaker Rima Das, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Chairman Prasoon Joshi, and producer Bobby Bedi.
