Hyderabad Declaration urges BRICS nations to ensure social security for every worker

Hyderabad, July 18 (UNI) The 15th BRICS Trade union Forum (TUF) Summit 2026, held in Hyderabad from July 14 to 16, concluded with the unanimous adoption of the Hyderabad Declaration, calling on BRICS governments to expand universal, adequate and sustainable social protection systems covering all categories of workers, including those in the unorganised sector, migrant workers, platform workers, self-employed workers, agricultural labourers and those engaged in non-standard employment.
In a press release issued on Saturday, BRICS Trade union Forum Chairman and Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) All India President Sunkari Mallesham said the declaration underscored that extending universal social protection to the last worker should become the new global development agenda.
Hosted by the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh under India's BRICS Presidency 2026, the three-day summit brought together 53 delegates representing trade union centres from 13 member and partner countries, along with over 60 trade union leaders, industry representatives, HR professionals and policy experts. Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla attended the valedictory session and praised the consensus reached at the summit.

CSIR-IICT signs pact with Viridis Biopharma for diabetic foot ulcer treatment
