Hyd: GMR School of Aviation, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya partner to train aircraft maintenance engineers

Hyderabad, Mar 11(UNI) GMR School of Aviation, a strategic business unit of GMR Aero Technic, on Wednesday said it has partnered with Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya to develop skilled aircraft maintenance engineers and address the growing talent demand in India’s aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) sector.
Under the collaboration, students will have access to a B.Sc. in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) programme that integrates academic learning with industry-oriented technical training aligned with real-world MRO requirements, the aviation school said in a release here.
Announcing the partnership during the MRO South Asia Summit 2026 in New Delhi, Vice-Chancellor Manoj Choudhary said the collaboration reflects a strong industry-academia partnership aimed at creating skilled human capital for India’s rapidly expanding aviation MRO sector.
Ashok Gopinath, President and Accountable Manager of GMR Aero Technic, said the initiative will help develop DGCA and EASA licensed aircraft maintenance engineers equipped with a B.Sc. degree while gaining exposure to operational MRO environments.
This partnership will not only strengthen India’s self-reliance in the MRO sector but also build a sustainable pipeline of skilled engineers who can support the industry’s rapid growth, he added. UNI KNR KK
