Hughes Global Education announces collaboration with edX in India

Mumbai, Jul 9 (UNI) Hughes Global Education India Ltd on Tuesday announced partnership with edX.org, the trusted platform for learning.

As part of the collaboration, Hughes has also rolled out the first batch of Executive Programme in Data Science (EPDS) with a Professional Certificate program in Data Science for Executives from Columbia University on edX.org. Professional Certificate programs on edX are series of courses designed by industry leaders and top

universities to build and enhance critical professional skills needed to succeed in today's most in-demand fields.

Executive Programme in Data Science is a unique Hybrid model delivered in two parts.

Part A- Data Science for Executives Professional Certificate program from Columbia University on edX.org. Comprising of 3 modules will be taught by a distinguished team of professors at Columbia University’s Data Science Institute, over edx online learning platform.

Part B- Live labs and tutorials assistance by experts powered by Hughes Global Education. The additional learner support will enable practical application and understanding on successful completion of the modules. It will be delivered on Hughes (IOL) by eminent industry & academic mentors.

Data analytics today is used widely across healthcare, education, government, retail, e-commerce, media, manufacturing, and the service industry. The new programme will cover the fundamentals of statistics, machine learning, and algorithms and provide a practical understanding of the methods used by data scientists including;

statistical thinking and conditional probability, machine learning and algorithms, and effective approaches for data visualisation.

The course will also introduce learners to emerging technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), or wirelessly connected products, and techniques that allow computers to summarise mountains of text, audio, and video.
