Huge chunks of glacial ice blocks from alps detaches from main glacier and falls down, threaten Italian towns

Hyderabad, Aug 8 (UNI) G P Birla Observatory and Astronomical Research Centre Director Dr B G Sidharth has said that a huge chunks of glacial ice blocks from the alps have detached themselves from the main glacier and are falling down into the valley threatening Italian towns like Cortina.
It may be remembered that Dr Sidharth, had pointed out in his paper "A Brief Note on Accelerated Glacier Melting" communicated to Current Science on November 29, 2019, that the glacial ices are melting at an accelerated rate and these incidents bear it out.
Around August 12, the debris of the Comet Swift-Tuttle can be seen falling down to the Earth and getting burnt up in the atmosphere in the pre-dawn period.

Hyderabad, April 24 (UNI) The Election Commission of India (ECI) has issued a communication stipulating that every individual employed in any business, trade, industrial undertaking, or establishment, eligible to vote in elections to the House of the People or the Legislative Assembly of a State, shall be granted a paid holiday under Section 135 B of the Representation of People Act.
