Shimla, Jul 18 (UNI) The Public Sector Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (HPPCL) commissioned the newly-built Sawra Kaddu dam, as water diversion started filling the barrage in this district.
The button for the initial filling of barrage was pressed by Devesh Kumar, Managing Director, HPPCL, in the presence of Mahesh Sirkek, Director (Electrical); DS Thakur, Director (Civil); Manmohan Sharma, Director (Personnel & Finance); Vinay Kumar Manan, General Manager, Sawra Kuddu Hydroelectric Project; and other officers of HPPCL and HCC, the company entrusted with the task of completion of the project.
Sawra-Kuddu hydroelectric project (111 MW) is a run-of-the-river project, being constructed on river Pabber, a tributary of river Yamuna in this district, which achieved a milestone on Thursday, by starting initial filling of the barrage.
