HP demands national loan waiver, 1 time settlement for ailing rural household industries

Shimla, Apr 20 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Government and State Khadi Gram Udyog Board are toiling with number pending small credits issued to the house hold cottage rural industries and artisans to fulfill the obligations of national flagship program of early eighties and nineties dreamed by the father of nation Mahatma Gandhi.
While launching the a website of State Khadi Gram Udyog here this afternoon, Himachal Pradesh Minister of Industry, Mr. Mukesh Agnihotri stressed the need that this public sector unit had rendered small credits to uplift the down rural cottage industry and households to run their units mostly based upon the weaving of cotton and silk should be given loan waivers and soft approach compared to the massive lenders or none performing assets like Vijya Maliya .
''Khadi and Gram Udyog in the state, an umberla body to regulate cottage industries requires urgent intervention to avoid worsen its economic condition as it was in trap of red-tapism, issuing futile notices to the defaulters and yielding nothing '' Minister emphasis.
