HP: Dehra police crack two hit-and-run cases within 48 hours

Dharamshala, May 14 (UNI) In a major breakthrough, the Himachal Pradesh Police has solved two separate hit-and-run cases registered at Jawalamukhi Police Station within 48 hours, officials said on Thursday.
Dehra district superintendent of police Mayank Chaudhary told UNI that FIR No. 49/2026 dated May 12 and FIR No. 50/2026 dated May 13 were registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act following two road accidents caused by unidentified drivers who fled the scene after the incidents.
He said the absence of eyewitnesses at both accident sites made the investigation highly challenging. He further said that considering the seriousness of the cases, four special police teams were immediately constituted under the supervision of senior officers of Dehra Police district and SDPO Jawalamukhi.
