HP constables paper leak case: CBI conducts search in 50 location of 7 states

Shimla, Jan 31 (UNI) The Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday conducted searches at around 50 locations across 07 States and UT (including Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Punjab, Uttar Prdesh, Haryana etc) in an ongoing investigation of two cases related to leakage of question papers for the written examinations for the post of Constables in Himachal Pradesh Police.
During searches, incriminating documents have been recovered. CBI registered two cases on November 30, 2022 on the request of Himachal Pradesh Government & further notification by Govt of India and had taken over the investigation of these cases earlier registered vide FIR No. 41, at Police Station, Gaggal & FIR No. 5, PS CID, Bharari (Shimla) by the State Police on the allegations of leakage of question papers of written examinations for the post of Constables in Himachal Pradesh Police, held on March 27, 2022. During investigation and scrutiny of documents, alleged role of various middlemen based in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, etc were revealed. It was alleged that they were operating the nexus for leakage of examination papers in organised manner.
Investigation is continuing. A SIT of state police was also registered by BJP government and chargesheet was already moved in the court. CBI have moved application in the court to postpone hearing in the matter as agency is reprobing the case afresh. It is worthwhile to mention that SIT constitued by the state police didn't not booked any state senior police officials in the constable paper leak cases however police was conducted examination and paper was leaked under the scanner of officers from printing press. After formation Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government another paper leak scam was exposed by state vigilance and anti-corruption bureau in which an employee of Hamirpur based Himachal Pradesh Subordinate Selection Commission was founded involved . Now State police also found that three others paper would also be going to leak in the state examination going to conduct in future by HPSSC Hamirpur. State police handed over the probe of constable paper leak scams during Jai Ram Thakur Government. In a reply of query raised by this correspondent that constable paper leak case was took over investigation by the CBI during Assembly Election, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that Congress government would assist CBI to investigate the paper leak case however the state police had already probed the paper leak case.
