HP: Congress MLAs blame former BJP govt for economic crisis

Shimla, Feb 10 (UNI) Training guns on the former BJP government in Himachal Pradesh, Congress MLAs Malendra Rajan and Ajay Solanki on Monday held the previous Jai Ram Thakur government responsible for the deteriorating economic condition of the state.
In a joint press statement issued on the recent statements of BJP leader, they accused the former government, led by Jai Ram Thakur, of leaving the state in financial distress with a debt burden of Rs 75,000 crore and unpaid liabilities of Rs 10,000 crore for employees and pensioners.
They claimed that instead of focusing on resource generation, the BJP government borrowed recklessly and distributed freebies worth Rs 5,000 crore in the last six months before the 2022 elections, prioritizing political gains over economic stability.
