Kangra, Aug 15 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu presented the prestigious 'Prerna Srot Samman', the highest state award, to Prof (Dr) Mahesh Verma, Vice Chancellor of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) at the State-level Independence Day function held in Dehra, Kangra on Thursday.
The award, presented by Sukhu, recognizes Prof. Verma's exceptional contributions to innovation and excellence in education and healthcare, as well as his enduring connection to his Himachali roots.
Prof. Verma, a native of Bilaspur, in HP had a distinguished career in dentistry and education. He is a recipient of several national honours, including the Padma Shri, Dr. B.C. Roy Award, and National Science and Technology Award.
