HP Chief Secretary takes stock of winter preparedness and road restoration

Shimla, Oct 7 (UNI) HP Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta chaired a review meeting to take stock of the status of road restoration works and preparedness measures in view of the approaching winter season.
During the meeting held last evening, it was informed that necessary instructions had been issued to the Regional Officer, NHAI, to ensure that the Kiratpur-Manali National Highway remains open with at least two lanes operational in all stretches.
The RO, NHAI has said the highway is operational with a minimum of two lanes even at locations that suffered damage during the recent monsoon.

EOW files chargesheet in fraudulent appointment and salary withdrawal case

Srinagar, Nov 8 (UNI) The Economic Offences Wing of the Crime Branch Kashmir has filed a chargesheet against three individuals, including a retired headmaster, for their alleged involvement in a fraudulent appointment and salary misappropriation case, officials said today.
The chargesheet was produced under Sections 419, 420, 409, 468, 471 read with 120-B of the Ranbir Penal Code (RPC), before the Court of Sub Judge, Chadoora, against the accused Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Gazi , a retired headmaster; Mubeena Kawsar and Ifra Nissar in the 2022 FIR.
