HP Assy's nod to hike TA of MLAs, ministers, presiding officers

Shimla, Aug 31 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Assembly on Saturday passed three bills hiking the Travelling Allowance of members, ministers and presiding officers, including Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, who hold the portfolio of Finance, laid three different bills enhancing existing limit for reimbursement of expenses incurred on the account of free transit of facilities to the members , Ministers, Speaker and Deputy Speakers.
Opposing the bill, CPI(M)'s lone member Mr Rakesh Singha said bringing the bill at the time of economic crisis, gives out a wrong signal.

Bhopal, Sep 25 (UNI) Acknowledging the fact that Madhya Pradesh is grappling with a resource crunch spawned by the ‘millennium scourge’, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Friday assured in the same breath that public welfare and development projects will not halt.
“Within a period not exceeding three years, pure potable tap-water shall be supplied to every dwelling and each indigent individual will reside in a pucca abode,” the senior politician was officially quoted as saying while addressing a Vikas Parv-cum-Antyodaya Mela in Guna District’s Bamori after performing bhoomi pujan for ventures worth approximately Rs 640 crore.
