HP Assy clears Education Council Bill

Shimla, Dec 15 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Assembly on Saturday passed the Himachal Pradesh State Higher Education Council (Establishment and Regulation) Bill, 2018 after intense debate as the opposition members punched holes in the draft questioning the government intention.
Presenting the Bill for the discussion Education minister Suresh Bhardwaj said that education has been included in concurrent list and state can make legislation on the subject.
He said that the education council already exists in the executive capacity and state want to give statutory provisions to it.
