How to trust BJP over women safety in Delhi: AAP

New Delhi , Sep 20 (UNI) In a fresh attack pn BJP, Aam Aadmi Party on Friday raised doubts over the ability of the ruling party to ensure women safety in the national capital.
Referring to Thursday's incident wherein a BJP leader allegedly slapped his wife outside the party office premises, senior AAP leader Atishi on Friday said, ''On one hand, they make tall promises of ensuring safety in the capital city and on the other hand they themselves are seen slapping their own women leaders, right inside their party office.''
''When BJP cannot ensure the safety of its own women leaders, then how can we trust them with the safety of women in the capital city,'' the AAP leader added.
She said that the woman BJP leader, who was allegedly slapped, is the convenor for 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' for Delhi.
While addressing the press here along with other AAP women leaders, Atishi said that BJP has leaders like Chinmayanand and Kuldeep Sengar who are currently undergoing trial for rape, and further said alleging that this shows that the party cannot be trusted when it comes to safety of women not even in their own party premises.
She said the Delhi Police which comes under central government has the responsibility of maintaining law and order in the city.
BJP's district president from Mehrauli Azad Singh was seen allegedly slapping his wife, who is an ex- South Delhi Mayor at the party's Delhi office in a video that went viral on social media.
He was removed from the post later on Friday.
