Hope ‘Juzz Baatt’ resonates with audience: Rajeev Khandelwal

By Sanya Pandey

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) Actor Rajeev Khandelwal who is all set to host the Zee TV’s candid chat show ‘JuzzBaatt- Sangeen Se Namkeen Tak’, says he is hoping that the programme resonates with the audience.

On asking what mark this show will leave on the audience, and will it be able to do well compared to other talk shows on TV, Rajeev in a conversation with UNI said, "Some shows are based on perceptions. If you see the rating, the shows are not doing well. They are just built on perceptions, just like some commercial film. Not all talk shows are successful if you see the viewership. Some shows are high on perceptions.”

“Shows which were really big were 'Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai.’ I am not going to compare that this show will beat that show. This show has a different appeal altogether. It is not about beating any show,” he said.

“It is about seeing lives, meeting up with them, chatting. I don't have much to do on the show. I am just the host who will be talking and will be bringing out the emotions. There is no format as such of the show. So I am not worried about being compared to other shows. It is a different take and approach all together. I am just hoping it resonates with the audience,” Rajeev said.

Telling about what attracted him to this show, Rajeev said, "The power to connect. I connected with the idea that we have made an image in our heads that yes this is how a celebrity is. But do people know even one tenth of what these celebrities have done in their real life to reach where they are.”

“People don't even know the tiny proportion of what they have done in their lives. But we have an image of celebrities and we rate them. I want to bring that out in the show and this is what connected me that I will unravel stories of these celebrities, as an individual they are,” he said.

Talking about how he sees the television graph right now, the ‘Table no 21’ fame actor said, "I think after the advent of web, internet -- it has divided the audience. So now we have a very divided audience.”

Rajeev, who is not seen in the fiction shows of late said, "Nobody came up to me with a limited series. They were coming up with fiction, daily soaps. I am not prepared to do a daily soap, so that's the reason for my

absence.”

The actor said,”the moment any short format will approach me and if I find that exciting I would do that.”

The actor who has a huge fan following, is not a social media addict. When asked the reason behind it, Rajeev said,” I feel social media is a leech around your neck. It keeps pulling you. I want to be a free bird.”

“I can't constantly update my status or do this and that just because of my popularity. And I don't want to be available all the time everywhere. In my head I don't think I am a public figure that people should read or know about all the time. I am glad people give me their love. I just don't want to be held anywhere,” the ‘Kahiin Toh Hoga’ fame actor said.

On how web medium has treated him, Rajeev said it was beautiful.

“Web has been really nice. My first series 'Haq Se' was outstanding in terms of series and in terms of response,” he said.

The actor also said he would never be a part of reality show Bigg Boss.

Highlighting and celebrating the stories of inspiration, aspiration and entertainment of celebrities, Zee TV is launching a light-hearted chat show titled ‘JuzzBaatt… Sangeen Se Namkeen Tak’.

The weekend prime time offering will be a 26-episode series providing the audience a glimpse into the rise of acclaimed celebrities.

This is the channel’s second attempt at a talk show format after ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai’, which ran two seasons from 2002 and 2008.

Rekindling the celebrities’ memories and engaging the audiences through their motivational tales will be actor Rajeev Khandelwal.

Co-produced by Sandiip Sikcand Telefilms and SOL, ‘JuzzBaatt…Sangeen Se Namkeen Tak’ will premiere on May 5 and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 1900 hrs on Zee TV.

‘JuzzBaatt… Sangeen Se Namkeen Tak’ is a candid chat show where celebrities reveal their personality, their closest relationships, struggles and adventures, victories and setbacks, hopes and aspirations and fears and inhibitions, which make them human and relatable to audiences.

Adding an element of fun and entertainment, the celebrity guests will participate in games, showcasing a quirky aspect of their personality.
