Hope Foundation brings on Hollywood Actor Jeremy Irons as their Patron & Brand Ambassador

Kolkata, Nov 07 (UNI) The Hope Foundation set up in 1999 to raise funds for one girl’s home is dedicated to promote and protect street and slum children to change their lives.
The Hope Foundation today witnessed the grand announcement of their patron & brand ambassador Mr Jeremy Irons, World Famous Dramatist & Hollywood Actor at Hotel Hindusthan International (HHI) today.
The occasion also saw the presence of eminent dignitaries like Mr Anik Dutta, Famous Tollywood Director, Ms Maureen Forrest, Founder Director of The Hope Foundation & Ms Geeta Venkadakrishnan- Director, Hope Kolkata Foundation.
The Hope Foundation is known for restoring lost childhoods and ensuring human rights to hundreds of thousands of street and slum dwellers throughout Kolkata, India.
HOPE continues to work with recognized local partner organizations to tackle the root causes of abject poverty, whilst encouraging communities to shape their sustainable futures.
The Hope Foundation had always received immense support from various personalities from different sectors of the industry.
Hollywood Jeremy John Irons has always been an active supporter of The Hope Foundation and has always volunteered in many of the brand’s projects.
On being appointed as the brand ambassador of The Hope Foundation, Mr Jeremy Irons said, “Merely talking of change is not enough. We need to ensure that our children remain healthy and girls do not have to miss school. I am very happy and excited to be a part of Hope Foundation. Every child in this world is special and Hope Foundation is doing a great job by helping these underprivileged children.”
An interactive and invigorating session was also explored between Actor Jeremy Irons and underprivileged children of The Hope Foundation.
He shared some of the inspiring tales to help these children in achieving their goals, careers and dreams in life. He aims to lead them to a successful journey and conquer any milestone.
Ms Maureen Forrest, Founder and Director, Hope Foundation, further added, “The children of The Hope Foundation share a strong bond with Mr Jeremy Irons. He is not only multitalented but also multifaceted. He also has the power to influence change. He is a very approachable person with a human heart."
Hope Foundation was set up in 1999 to raise funds for one girl’s home; It is now a registered Irish Charity with offices in Ireland, India, the UK, Germany and the USA. Hope operates over 60 projects in and around Kolkata through 13 local implementation partner organizations.

FIR filed against journalist in Meghalaya

Shillong, Jul 6 (UNI) A First Information Report (FIR) has been lodged against senior journalist Padmashree Patricia Mukhim on charges of “inciting communal tension” after six non-tribal boys were assaulted by iron-rods and sticks at the basketball court in Lawsohtun Block-6 here in Meghalaya on July 3, by “masked miscreants”.
