Honda launches new Activa 125, meets both AHO, BS IV norms

New Delhi, Feb 9 (UNI) Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI), leader in automatic scooter segment today launched the NEW Activa 125 which is India’s highest selling 125cc automatic scooter. The standard variant of the scooter will be available at a price of Rs 56,954. The New Activa 125 is now comes with a Frontastic style overhaul and is Industry’s first automatic scooter to meet both Automatic Head Lamp On (AHO) and Bharat Stage-IV emission norms.
Elaborating on the new Activa 125, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, Yadvinder Singh Guleria said, “Activa 125 is No. 1 selling 125cc automatic scooter of India with over 6 lakh customers and counting. Invigorating the segment once again, Honda’s Activa 125 is now the first automatic scooter in India to meet both the AHO and BS-IV norms. Having completely new Frontastic looks with compelling combination of new LED position lights and chrome chest, the new Alloy variant and added convenience features; we are confident that the all new Activa 125 will strengthen its leadership even more in 2017-18.” The new Activa 125 now comes with the new striking LED position lights integrated into the premium front chrome chest and a larger 3D Honda emblem for more differentiated style. It is the only 125cc automatic scooter in India equipped with Combi Brake System (CBS) with Equalizer technology. (As per Government regulations, CBS will be mandatory on all two-wheelers up to 125cc engine capacity from April 1, 2018). Automatic Headlamp On or AHO is a new Government notification effective April 1, 2017. As per this, the headlamp of all two-wheelers manufactured in India should be equipped to automatically turn on as vehicle starts. Key benefits of AHO for the new Activa 125 rider are improved visibility of the vehicle in all conditions (dawn, dusk, fog, rain etc) which will in turn reduce the risk of accident on road. Bharat Stage-IV or BS-IV is the new regulation for reduced emission level approved by Indian government. This will be mandatory in all two-wheelers starting April 1, 2017.
