New Delhi, Feb 3 (UNI) Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) today rolled out its 50th lakh CB Shine from its Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. The CB Shine, as Honda claims, is the only 125cc motorcycle to cross 50 lakh sales mark. Talking to media persons, Keita Muramatsu, President and CEO, Honda Motorcycle and Scooters India said the Company has also launched the all-new 2017 BS-IV CB Shine with AHO. Mr Muramatsu said the Budget Presented by the Finance Ministerwill help the Two wheeler Industry and the sales will go up in coming months. He accepted that there were dip in the sales after demonetization, but it is recovering well after the re-monetisation process. He said that the focus of the Honda is on the Indian Market as we are the fastest growing company in the market achieving the highest growth in sales. He said that the India is the fastest growing economy in the world which has huge opportunity for two-wheeler. According to him, the new motorcycle of the company is third BS-IV compliant vehicle. The new CB Shine also comes in three variants the self-drum-alloy at Rs 60,467, the self-disc-alloy at Rs 62,926 and the self-disc-alloy CBS at Rs 66,015 (ex-Mumbai). It gets merely a Rs 500-700 hike in price compared to the BS-III CB Shine. In addition to the BS-IV compliant engine, the CB Shine receives a few cosmetic as well as technical updates. The motorcycle is powered by a 124.73cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. The new CB Shine doesn’t get any change in the power/torque rating. It generates the same 10.16PS at 7,500rpm and 10.30Nm at 5,500rpm. Even the claimed fuel efficiency is identical to the previous model’s. On the occasion, Y.S Guleria, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India, said that the company’s entire stable of bikes and scooters will be BS IV complaint by the 31 March 2017 deadline. The Honda CB Shine has been a strong seller for HMSI, becoming India’s best-selling 125 cc bike in the fiscal year 2008-09. It held 36 percent of the 125 cc market in India in 2014-15 and remain’s Honda’s best-selling bike worldwide. UNI ADP AE 1958
