Home Minister reviews security in a meeting with top police officials

New Delhi, Oct 18 (UNI) Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday chaired the National Security Strategies Conference, which was attended by senior police officials and chiefs of the paramilitary forces.
The Home Minister reviewed the security situation in the country.
"Deliberations were detailed and expansive, given the presence of all DGPs and DGs of CAPFs. The Conference deliberated on various internal security challenges and discussed ways to tackle them firmly," the Home Ministry said.
Senior officials of the Intelligence Bureau were also present at the meet.
The meeting comes in the backdrop of a number of killings of civilians in the Kashmir valley. Two migrant workers were killed in Kashmir on Sunday, and at least 11 people have been shot dead by terrorists over last month.
On Sunday, terrorists had opened fire at the labourers at Vanpoh in Kulgam district, killing two.
Those murdered in Kashmir over the last month include the principal and a teacher of a government school in Srinagar's Eidgah area, Supinder Kour and Deepak Chand, 70-year-old Makhan Lal Bindroo, a prominent businessman and the owner of a pharmacy in Srinagar, a street vendor from Bihar Virendra Paswan, and a cab driver Mohd Shafi Lone.
