Holi delight: Fuel prices remains unchanged

New Delhi, Mar 20 (UNI) Fuel prices remain unchanged on Wednesday, with petrol costing Rs 72.78 per litre while diesel Rs 66.80 a litre in National Capital.
According to Indian Oil Corporation website, in Gautam Budh Nagar district, petrol was Rs 72.72 per litre and diesel Rs 65.97 a litre. In Gurugram, petrol Rs 72.18 a litre and diesel Rs 65.86 per litre.
In maximum city, Mumbai, petrol was at Rs 78.40 while diesel Rs 69.97 per litre. In Chennai, petrol -- Rs 75.59 a litre, diesel Rs 70.59 a litre.
As per the country’s dynamic pricing mechanism, the domestic fuel prices depend upon International fuel prices on a 15-day average and the value of the rupee.
The price of the two fuels retailing at the petrol pumps is calculated after adding central excise duty, dealers commission and value-added tax (VAT) to the base price.
The prices are revised at 0600 hrs daily, while earlier it used to be revised every fortnight.
