HKCCI demands creation of a separate Ministry and Secretariat for HKRDB

Kalaburagi, Feb 7 (UNI) Hyderabad-Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (HKCCI) has urged Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumarswamy to create a separate Ministry or set up a Secretariat for Hyderabad-Karnataka Region Development Board (HKRDB) in the budget to be presented on February 8.
In a letter to the Chief Minister, released to the press here on Thursday, HKCCI President Amarnath Patil and Hon Secretary Shashikanth Patil said that in the absence of separate Secretariat for HKRDB the development works in the most backward Region are not being implemented effectively and the annual budget outlay for HKRDB remain unutilised.
With no road map for sustainable development aimed at the generation of employment opportunities, this region cannot witness development. Hence, a separate Ministry or Secretariat comprising of technical staff for the development of the region should be created, they demanded. Corrupt practices in the procurement Centres, delay in payment to farmers has failed to address the problems of pulse growing farmers and have also robbed APMC of its trade and revenue by way of APMC cess .
