Kolhapur, Oct 17 (UNI) The Hindu Janjagran Samiti(HJS) on Saturday sought a ban on screening of the Hindi movie "Lakshmi Bomb", to be released on November 9 protesting against what it called 'denigrating of the name of Shree Lakshmi Devi', the deity of millions of Hindus and for purposely encouraging 'Love Jihad' by displaying relationship between a Muslim youth and a Hindu girl.
Ramesh Shinde, national spokesperson of HJS said in a statement on Saturday that the body objects to the name of the film starring Akshay Kumar, which denigrates Lakshi Devi's name.
'On the one hand, we have been enlightening people for the last several years to stop bursting 'Lakshmi Firecrackers' which insults the Hindu Deity, and the name of this film will only encourage them to burst the firecrackers again', he claimed.
