Hindi can be our national language : Sushma swaraj

Chennai, Jan 5 (UNI) Union Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj said that the Hindi language is all eligible to become national language of India at the 82nd Convocation of Dakshina Bharat Hindi Prachar Sabha here on Saturday.
Lauding the role of Hindi language in developing India's culture and integrity she said it has increasingly become popular in other countries and also in the social media.
She said the language plays a major role in connecting people and Hindi was becoming popular round the world.
Recalling the services of political leaders who laid the foundation for propagating Hindi, she said the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the first Indian leader to address the United Nations General Assembly in the national language.
Mrs Sushma Swaraj said that present trends indicated there was an increase in job opportunities for Hindi graduates and Hindi offers a promising career as many Hindi publications and news channels have emerged during the past few years, she said.
Later, talking to the party workers at BJP office, the union minister of External Affairs Mrs Sushma Swaraj said that the lok sabha election will come soon and BJP is working to face the election. She said the prime minister Narendra Modi will kickstart the election campaign during his visit to Madurai in the state on January 27.
