Himachal’s Una records hottest day of summer

Shimla, May 29 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday witnessed an unprecedented heatwave as the maximum temperature made a new record, soaring to 46.3 degree Celsius at Neri in Hamirpur district, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
Apart from Neri, Una, which had highest maximum temperature record of 45.2 degrees on three occasions, previously recorded 46 degrees on January 29. The previous record high temperature for Una was 45.2 °C on May 23, 2013, June 21, 2005, and June 10, 2019. It was around seven degrees above normal.
The maximum temperature in Bilaspur was 44.5 degrees - 7.6 degrees above normal. Hamirpur also recorded 43.8 degrees, eight degrees above normal.
