Himachal Rajya Sabha poll: Congress on edge as ‘Operation Lotus 2.0’ looms

Shimla, Jan 16 (UNI) The impending election to a Rajya Sabha seat from the state has triggered intense political churn, with all indications pointing to a tough contest and the strong possibility of a woman candidate entering the Upper House.
The battle is being watched closely against the backdrop of the 2024 Rajya Sabha election, when the ruling Congress lost a seat despite enjoying a numerical advantage in the Assembly, an outcome widely attributed to cross-voting and internal dissidence.
This time, the Congress leadership appears wary of a repeat. The BJP, emboldened by its earlier success, is believed to be preparing for what political observers are describing as 'Operation Lotus 2.0'.
