Himachal: PM Modi to address rally at Mandi; Rahul at Una on Friday

Shimla, May 9 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a rally at Mandi, while Congress president Rahul Gandhi will address a rally in Una, on Friday.
All the four Lok Sabha seats- Shimla (SC), Mandi, Hamirpur and Kangra in the state will vote in the seventh and last leg of the ongoing general elections on May 19.
Prime Minister Modi will address the rally at Paddal ground in support of BJP's Mandi candidate Ram Swaroop Sharma, whereas Congress chief Rahul will address his first rally in Una in support of party's Hamirpur candidate Ram Lal Thakur. Ram Lal is the Congress MLA from Sri Naina Deviji assembly segment.
The Mandi LS seat is matter of stake for BJP state Chief minister Jai Ram Thakur as party has won most of assembly seat from Mandi in 2017 however the defection in the party and joining of Congress by the Pt Sukh Ram and his grand son and quitting of cabinet berth by the son of Sukh Ram Anil Sharma pose major challenge to the ruling party.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi would address three election rallies in Una, Solan and Mandi, whereas Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi will hold two road shows in Theog and Sundernagar of Himachal Pradesh, Himachal Congress affairs incharge Rajni Patil said.
However the dates for his Solan (in Shimla Lok Sabha seat) and Mandi rallies are yet to be finalised, she said adding that the tentative dates for these rallies are May 15 and 16.
Similarly the tentative date of Priyanka’s road shows in Theog of Shimla Lok Sabha seat and Sundernagar of Mandi Lok Sabha seat is May 17, she added.
The dates for Rahul’s rallies and Priyanka’s road shows will soon be finalised, she added
