Highway connecting Kashmir with rest of country closed due to landslides

Srinagar, Mar 17 (UNI) Hundreds of vehicles, including those carrying passengers, got stranded at different places on the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu National Highway this afternoon due to landslides, triggered by heavy rains since last evening.
Meanwhile, the National Highway, linking the Ladakh region with Kashmir valley, historic Mughal road and Bandipora-Gurez and Synthan-Kishtwar roads also remained closed since December last year due to accumulation of snow.
Earlier, despite moderate to heavy rain since last evening the National Highway, connecting the Valley with the rest of the country, was through for traffic with some restrictions.
