High level MHA committee interacted with Tripura parties

Agartala, Oct 12 (UNI) The high level committee constituted by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to evaluate the socio-economic, cultural and linguistic development issues of the indigenous population of Tripura as a pre-poll commitment of BJP of forging alliance with tribal based IPFT led by special secretary, internal security Rina Mitra completed it’s first visit today.
According to report, they have recorded the statement of different political parties. They will also make interaction with other stakeholders and beneficiaries. The committee will submit its report within two months of formation of the committee.
The high level committee members yesterday had interacted with BJP, Congress, CPIM, CPI, IPFT and INPT and accepted their memorandums in support of their demands and proposals for development of tribal population.
The IPFT president and revenue minister N C Debbarma and forest minister also general secretary Mevar Kumar Jamatia along with other leaders of the party while submitting the memorandum to the committee demanded holistic development of tribal and explained their demand of separate Tipraland.
On the other, BJP state committee submitted a memorandum to the committee seeking to uplift the economic condition of the indigenous people. They also asked for special economic package by central government for the improvement of tribal people and also demanded direct funding to the ADC.

Mokahda tribal dies after receivingnotice from Forest dept
