High-level meeting between AP, Telangana officials underway in Hyd

Hyderabad, Jun 29 (UNI) To resolve pending issues which cropped up following the bifurcation of the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, senior officials from the two Telugu states began their high level meeting at Pragathi Bhavan here on Saturday.
The high level officials from both the states were discussing at length on the suggestions given by Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and AP state CM Y S Jaganmohan Reddy during their first meeting held on Friday.

In this meeting, Chief Advisors of Telangana state and AP State, Rajiv Sharma, Ajay Kallam, Chief Secretaries SK Joshi (Telangana), LV Subramanyam (AP) Telangana state’s Principal Secretary, Finance, Ramakrishna Rao, Rajeswara Rao and others participated.

The discussions were going on common institutions listed in the ninth and tenth schedules of Reorganisation Act, division of AP Bhavan property, division of other properties.

However, in the Friday’s meeting, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had decided to make efforts to solve water woes of both the states.

The Chief Ministers wanted officials of both the states to work out schemes to ensure irrigation and drinking water to both the states.

The meeting decided to set up a committee comprising officials of both the states to come up with proposals on the possibility of diverting Godavari river waters to Srisailam (Krishna) reservoir and submit a preliminary report by July 15.

Hyderabad, Aug 17 (UNI) A day after receiving 'best constable 'award for his ‘dedication and hard work’ during the Independence Day celebrations at Mahabunagar district, a police constable Palle Thirupathi reddy working at I-town police station in Mahabunagar district, was caught red-handed by ACB officials on Friday evening at police station premises when he allegedly demanded and accepted the bribe amount of Rs 17,000 from the complainant for doing an official favor.
