High level delegation of Russian Guv visits Smart City

Visakhapatnam, Apr 21 (UNI) Mr Boris Dubrovsky, Governor of Chelyabinsk Region today led a 50-member Russian delegation to the Port and Steel city.


Mr Dubrovsky was accompanied Alexey Kozlov, Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Chelyabinsk Region, Sergey Sushkov, Minister of Agriculture, Chelyavinsk Region and Rusian Gattarov, Deputy Governor, Chelyavinsk Region.

The members of the delegation were interested in heavy industry, agriculture, infrastructure, technology and growth corridors of Andhra Pradesh.

They participated in a conference on exploring opportunities for cooperation between Andhra Pradesh and Chelyabinsk Region.

This conference was organized by the Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board, a single-point of contact for investments and partnerships in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

State Minister for Human Resource Development Ganta Srinivasa Rao delivered the keynote address urging Chelyabinsk Region to forge partnerships, alliances and explore new participatory areas of cooperation.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu met the delegation during their visit to INNOPROM in 2016 and proposed for stronger partnerships between Russia and Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister invited the Governor to visit Andhra Pradesh and explore mutual areas of cooperation.

Mr Dubrovsky said that “India and Russia and natural partners and I see Russia and India scaling up the volume of trade. India and Russia will gain in promoting the International North-South Transport Corridor which would reduce transit time by almost 40 per cent between India and Russia.

Minister for Human Resource Development,Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that “Chelyabinsk is one of the major industrial centers of Russia and Andhra Pradesh is impressed how heavy industry has had an impressive growth especially in metallurgy and military industry. We hope that Chelyabinsk helps us with know-how and built similar capabilities in heavy industry in Andhra Pradesh.”

“This visit is important as India and Russia are celebrating 70 years of diplomatic ties and Chelyabinsk can complement Andhra Pradesh’s high-growth trajectory by cooperation in manufacturing and industrialization especially heavy industry, metallurgy and military industry,” he said.

The conference hosted business to business meetings between businessmen in Andhra Pradesh and Russian businessmen.

The delegation from Chelyabinsk visited the Vishakhapatnam Steel Plant(VSP) and meet the officials of Pharma City in the City.
