High Court asks L Martinere Schools governor not to take any decision till a lawsuit is disposed

Kolkata, Jul 12 (UNI) A single-judge bench of Calcutta High Court today issued a ruling
asking the board of governors at La Martinere Schools in the city to refrain from taking
any decision on the management of the institutions till " a lawsuit over sacking the
nominated board member is disposed."
The matter came up before the high court scanner after Jusice Arindam Sinha on
Thursday admitted a lawsuit challenging the removal of four members of the governing
body of the schools by two ex-officio governors.
The existing board can not remove or appoint any person as governor of the board,
Justice Sinha ruled.
La Martinere Schools, one of the city’s oldest schools is run by a board of governors
of whom two are ex-officio members, while four others are appointed by ex-officio
members for a year.
