High alert sounded in Ambala after heavy rains flooded Tangri, Markanda rivers

Ambala, Jul 23 (UNI) High alert has been sounded after heavy rains in Morni hills floods the Tangri river flowing through the district.
The Markanda river has also been flooded by rain water from the mountainous region of Shivalik hills.
Every year both the rivers start flowing above the danger mark on rains in the mountains. Yesterday, the PWD authorities sounded alert in the area to remain vigilant of the flood that inundates the Tangri river and flood water started enter in the houses which have been built on banks both sides of river.

War against COVID-19: MP’s body count rises to 2,828

Bhopal, Oct 21 (UNI) The fatality figure owing to the ‘millennium scourge’ mounted to 2,828 on Wednesday in Madhya Pradesh where 17 fresh demises were reported even as the infected tally rose to 1,63,296 with 1,118 new cases being detected during analysis of 26,546 specimens.
A Health Services Directorate bulletin issued tonight pegged the active cases at 12,386.

BJP leader unscathed in accident

Shivpuri, MP, Oct 21 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party bigwig Prabhat Jha had a providential escape on Wednesday in the vicinity of Dholagarh barrier on the Gwalior-Dewas stretch of a four-lane National Highway but the car in which he was travelling sustained damage when the driver swerved to avoid ramming a motorcyclist, law-enforcement authorities said.
The politician continued his journey in another vehicle.
