High alert in Varanasi following Delhi blast, special vigil at religious sites and Ganga ghats

Varanasi, Nov 11 (UNI) A high alert has been declared in Kashi following the car bomb blast near the Red Fort in Delhi.
Special vigil is being maintained at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Sankat Mochan Temple, and Ganga ghats. Various agencies are also keeping a close watch on other religious sites in Kashi. Police are investigating suspects at Varanasi Junction, Banaras Railway Station, and bus stands.
Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal stated that instructions have been given to conduct checking and frisking at crowded places. All station heads have been instructed to increase patrolling and conduct intensive checking in their areas. Bomb Disposal Squads (BDS) and dog squads have been deployed at the Ganga ghats.
