HIDCO to have e-ink displays to seek Platinum status for Newtown

HIDCO to have e-ink displays to seek Platinum status for Newtown

Kolkata, Nov 13 (UNI) The State Government’s West Bengal Housing & Infrastructure Development Corporation (HIDCO) is adopting environment friendly initiatives to seek Platinum status for Newtown from Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
One such initiative is adoption of e-ink display technology that works with very little energy. As a pilot project, an e-ink display has been installed at bus stand, close to Gate 2 of the Eco Park.
The e-ink display can continue to use minimum energy if the display isn't changed. Whenever a change in the display is required, the technology uses tiny amount of power to do it. Apart from low power consumption, the technology allows better clarity, which makes it perfect for public announcements, conference schedule and notice boards. Once charged, the display can work for a longtime, which is another great advantage.
