Herbal concoction prepared by Madurai-based Siddha doctor has anti-viral effect, TN tells HC

Madurai, Jul 1 (UNI) Tamil Nadu government has informed the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court that the herbal concoction prepared by a Madurai-based Siddha doctor has been sent to the Central Council for Research in Ayurveda and Siddha (CCRAS) at New Delhi, after it was found that the herbal concoction may have an anti-viral effect.
The State Health Secretary J.Radhakrishnan made the submission before the HC on Wednesday during the hearing of a petition filed by S Subramanian, who was the former Medical Officer of the Siddha dispensary at the Madurai Bench.
The petitioner had sought a direction to the Ministry of Ayush to test his herbal concoction called "IMPRO" and to find out if it could be used as a cure for coronavirus.
