Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock in Bangladesh Parliament has come here in
Tripura and attended in the programme organized by a news website group.
While he was addressing in the programme on Suday at Agartala Press Club,
he said it is not able to forget that the contribution of Tripura people and the
strong support of India Government at that time of Bangladesh Liberation War,
also known as the Bangladesh War of Independence. In the year 1971 it was a
revolution and armed conflict sparked by the rise of the Bengali nationalist. The
people of Tripura had done a great role in order to help the Bangladesh for

are many places in the state Tripura where the soldiers were taking shelter during
the liberation war of Bangladesh and it is important to identify the place in order
to preserve the history of Bangladesh liberation war”.
The first Chief Minister of Tripura Sachindra Lal Singh was doing many things in
order to help the people of Bangladesh. The people of Tripura were accepting the
people of Bangladesh and considered the people of Bangladesh as relative during
the year 1971. A good numbers of people come here in Tripura from Bangladesh
as refugee, said Swapan Bhatacharjee.
Swapan Kumar Bhatacharjee is awarded Bangladesh Friends of Liberation War
Honor from Bangladesh Government.
The economic review of Tripura reveals the information that the partition of India
in 1947 placed Tripura was perhaps the largest movement of evicted people in
modern history. It witnessed a heavy influx of refugees into Tripura from erstwhile
East Pakistan, now Bangladesh, who arrived with little wealth in hand.
On the otherhand, the partition resulted in a huge infrastructural and economic
set- back for Tripura. The State's resources came under severe strain due to heavy
influx of refugees into the State from erstwhile East Pakistan, mainly due to its long
international borde.
