Heavy snowfall yet again forces closure of Leh highway shut

Srinagar, Nov 19 (UNI) The 434-km-long Srinagar-Leh national highway was closed again on Monday due to fresh snowfall on Sunday, while the national highway, the only all weather road connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country and historic Mughal road are through for one-way traffic only, a traffic police official said.
There was fresh snowfall on Sunday afternoon on the highway, linking the Ladakh region with Kashmir, traffic police official told UNI.
He said accumulation of snow, the road has also become slippery due to which traffic has been suspended as a precautionary measure to avoid any mishap.
