Heavy rainfall likely in Uttarakhand in next 24 hours

Pune, Aug 12 (UNI) Rainfall with isolated heavy to very heavy falls is very likely over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during next 24 hours, forecast the India Meteorological Department today.
It further said that rainfall with isolated heavy spells is likely over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Vidarbha, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Konkan, Goa, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe during the same period.
Strong wind (with speed reaching up to 50-60 km per hour) is very likely to blow over southwest & westcentral Arabian Sea and with (speed reaching 45-55 kmph) along & off Gujarat-Maharashtra-Goa coasts & westcentral Bay of Bengal, along & off Andhra Pradesh coast as well with (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) over northeast & eastcentral Arabian Sea, hence fishermen should not to venture into these areas during the same period, the Met warned.
