Heat wave conditions likely to prevail in Telangana Coastal AP & Yanam in next 5 days: MET

Hyderabad, Jun 13 (UNI) Heat wave conditions is likely to prevail at many parts in the districts of Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Mancherial, Kamareddy, Rajanna Siricilla, Peddapalli, Karimnagar, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Suryapet and Nalgonda in Telangana and many parts of in Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam during the next five days, Meteorological Department warned on Thursday.

In a bulletin here, it also warned that thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds (30 to 40 kmph) and lightning is likely to occur at isolated places in Coastal Andhra Padesh & Yanam during the next three days.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur at isolated places in Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam and Rayalaseema during the next five days, while maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius at isolated places in Rayalaseema during the next 48 hours.

Severe heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated pockets in the district of Medak and Heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated pockets in the districts of Warangal, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Peddapalli of Telangana and in the district of Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam, Nellore, East Godavari, West Godavari of Coastal Andhra Pradesh during the last 24 hours.

Rain occurred at isolated places in Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema during the same period.

In Telangana, the highest maximum temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius was recorded at Khammam and Ramagundam.

In Hyderabad the maximum and minimum temperatures stood at 38 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively, the bulletin said.

In Andhra Pradesh, the maximum temperature of 44 degree Celsius was recorded at Vijayawada and minimum temperature was 31 degree Celsius, the bulletin added.
