Ranchi, Nov 8 (UNI) Hearing on the bail petition of jailed former Bihar chief minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has been deferred till November 22.
The court of justice Apresh Kumar Singh gave November 22 as the next date of hearing in the case. In his bail plea, Mr Yadav has cited his growing age and ill health as reasons for bail. The lawyers of Mr Yadav said that since their client has spent more than half the tenure of the imprisonment in jail therefore he was eligible for bail.
Lalu Yadav was convicted by a special CBI court in Deoghar Treasury case of the Fodder Scam and was awarded 3.5 years of imprisonment on December 23, 2017 and since then he has been in jail.
