Hearing concluded in Scarlett death case

Panaji, Apr 26 (UNI) Hearing in an appeal filed by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against the acquittal of two beach-shack owners accused of sexual assault and death of a British teenager concluded at Bombay High Court in Goa on Friday.
Speaking to reporters in the city, CBI's special counsel Ejaz Khan said the matter was closed for the judgement.
The CBI had last year challenged acquittal by Children Court here of two beach-shack workers -- D’Souza and Placido Carvalho-- who were accused of sexually assaulting 15-year-old teenager Scarlett Keeling and leaving her to die at Anjuna beach in 2018. The accused were charged under IPC sections 304 (II) (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 354 (assault or use of criminal force on a woman with an intent to outrage her modesty) and 328 (administrating stupefying drug with an intent to cause hurt).

Pune, April 25 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal(5.1°C or more) at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and Assam and Meghalaya; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Jharkhand; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana. These were below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over Vidarbha and east Madhya Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 43.7°C was reported at Anantapur
(Rayalaseema) over the country.
