Lucknow, Jan 18 (UNI) HDFC, a private bank, has worked on a major plan to boost the digital platform for the customers with launching several new initiatives to make the banking system for consumers friendly. The bank has gone for major haul for making the customers aware for digital banking system and would hold 250 Digital Literacy camp in Uttar Pradesh till February. Over 15,000 normal customers and 10,000 traders have been benefitted with the digital services of the bank so far. HDFC has also advocated for UPI system, through which account holders of all banks, private of PSUs ,will get an unique virtual ID number and then can use any bank for their transition. HDFC Bank, Regional head UP, Sanjeev Kumar told reporters here today that 71 percent of his bank customers have already gone digital. HDFC has 435 branches in UP with 60 percent of them in the semi-urban and rural areas. "HDFC banks digital literacy camps are aimed at helping customers and traders in their transition from cash to less-cash economy in line with the government of India's objective of promoting digital economy," Kumar said while disclosed that already around 80 such camps have been completed held at different places including schools, Government offices, Universities and recreation centres. As part of this awareness initiative, HDFC bank officials will demonstrate through a presentation the various transactions that can be easily,quickly and safely conducted through NetBanking, Mobile banking, USSD, PoS and apps. such as HDFC bank's mobile app, UPI and PayZapp. Mr Kumar said in UP, HDFC bank has payment Gateway partnerships with over 450 Government and educational institutions, where residents can pay taxes, fees, utility bills and donations among other things using any debit and credit card.
