HC stays by-poll in Katol assy seat

Nagpur, Mar 19 (UNI) The Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court on Tuesday granted stay on by-poll in Katol Assembly constituency.
A Division Bench of Justices Ravi Deshpande and Shriram Modak gave the direction to the EC after taking up the PIL by a farmer who had sought a stay-order on its implementation or cancellation of the by-poll process contending that whoever gets elected , will have a short term of three months only before the next State Assembly elections are announced.
The PIL further said the winner will get only three months ( June, July, and August ) to carry on duties as an MLA since the regular elections are due in October for which Code of Conduct may come into force any time in September.
