HC reserves order on contempt petition over illegal dumping of construction debris & garbage along roads

Panaji, Sep 12 (UNI) A division bench of Bombay High Court at Goa comprising of Justice Nitin Jamdar on Wednesday reserved for September 27 its order on the contempt petition filed by Advocate Aires Rodrigues over the alleged inaction of the authorities to the continued dumping of debris and garbage along the Panaji-Old Goa Bypass Road.
The court stated that it would pass a very detailed order on the steps government needs to take in order to address the issue.
The Advocate General submitted to the court a 11 page note on measures taken by the Government to deal with the issue, but Advocate Rodrigues submitted to the court that the government directives to the Panchayats and Municipalities was only on paper while the ground reality was that the dumping of debris and garbage continues unabated with the situation getting bad to worse.
