HC issues notices to CBI, Union Govt in Tulja Bhavani temple case

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Jan 3 (UNI) The Aurangabad Bench of Bombay High Court has recently issued notices to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Union Government on a petition filed by Hindu Janjagran Samiti (HJS), alleging missing of 100-kg gold and silver ornaments and illegal transfer of over 1,000-acre of land of Maa Tulja Bhavani temple at Tuljapur in Osmanabad district of Marathwada region.
The petition, filed in October 2015 by the HJS through their advocates Suresh Kulkarni and Umesh Badgaonkar, contended that the State Government deliberately did not expedite the inquiry during last several years against the involved persons who are high profile bureaucrats and therefore prayed to transfer the investigation to CBI.
Upon considering the petitioner's request and gravity of the case, the high court issued notices to the CBI and the Central Government during a hearing held recently.
