HC issues notice to Bihar govt. for revising advocates' fees

Patna, Dec 2 (UNI) The Patna High Court on Friday issued notice to the Bihar Chief Secretary for revision of government advocate fees, an exercise last carried out 14 years back.
A division bench headed by Chief Justice Sanjay Karol issued a notice to the Chief Secretary directing him to reply within two weeks on points raised in a public interest petition filed for seeking an order to the Bihar government for revision of fees of its advocates including Additional Advocate General, government pleaders, standing counsels and others. In the petition, it was pointed out that fees of government advocates have not been hiked since 2008.
The bench directed the state government to file a detailed report within two weeks on points raised in the petition. The next date of hearing is December 20.
