Entertainment » OtherPosted at: Jan 28 2016 5:26PM HC dismisses PIL to go to Katchatheevu fete without NOCMadurai, Tamil Nadu Jan 28 (UNI) The Madurai Bench of Madras High Court (HC) has dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) petition seeking a direction to Tamilnadu government to permit government employees to go to Katchatheevu Island to participate in St.Antony’s Church without insisting No Objection Certificates (NOC) from the Heads of their respective departments. “The government servants could not go beyond the territory of the country without obtaining an NOC from the Head of the Department concerned as per statutory rules framed under Article 309 of the Constitution to regulate their conduct,” observed a Division Bench comprising Justices V.Ramasubramanian and N.Kirubakaran while rejecting a PIL made by the petitioner P.Mary of Koodal Nagar here.
